During the weekend
in October 22, 2017, my Khmer Literature class had a trip to five mountains at
Kompot province. They were Khchong mountain (ភ្នំខ្យង), Kompong Trach mountain (ភ្នំកំពង់ត្រាច), Sorsear
mountain (ភ្នំសរសៀ), Kbal Rmeas mountain (ភ្នំក្បាលរមាស), and Chhngok mountain (ភ្នំឈ្ងោក).
45 students
joined this trip composing of two buses. The first bus occupies around 20
students and 25 for the second.
I could say
that this journey was wonderful, happy, worried, serious, and dangerous and
looks so advanced. We started from Khchong mountain (ភ្នំខ្យង) as we think it is easy for
climbing by stair without worried or felt afraid. This mountain was not high. The cave of this
mountain looked a bite dark and deep, but we could not walk fast. Everyone
walked slowly and carefully because the stairs were wet and slippery.
Kompong Trach (ភ្នំកំពង់ត្រាច) was the second mountain,
it was not far from Khchong mountain (ភ្នំខ្យង), just take 20 minutes by bus. It is not so
much different from Khchong mountain (ភ្នំខ្យង), Kompong Trach mountain (ភ្នំកំពង់ត្រាច) looked so
interesting too. There were beautiful views and a lot of places to enjoy.
My classmate and I followed the
teacher to climb this mountain. It was a little bit difficult to reach the top
of the mountain. We need to climb without stairs and try to find easy pass to
the top which we had overcome with many boulders along the way. Sometimes we
climb the tree like a monkey.
When we come down all of us felt
relief from the danger. I didn’t know how I could come down because there are a
lot of huge boulders.
Then, we went to Sorsear mountain (ភ្នំសរសៀ). It
was easy to climb but hard to walk in the cave. It was darker than Kchong
mountain (ភ្នំខ្យង). Everyone used their phone flashlight to make the way for walking. There
were a lot of small caves that are difficult for us to move in.
Chhngok mountain (ភ្នំឈ្ងោក) is the final place that we pay much time on it,
because we lost the way. On the way to that mountain was also hard because it
was steep. We spent more than one hour to walk over that cave as like we were
soldiers. All of us look so dirty on bodies but we were happy with it.
We came back to Phnom Penh around 6 p.m. On the way back it was so
beautiful, fresh and cool in our minds. The sky was so dark and felt a bit
worried and tired. That is why our bus driver drove so fast like the
playing remix music on the bus.
We arrived Phnom Penh around 9 p.m. All of us got blessed and said good
bye each other and teacher. Good bye! see you soon...
